Have you ever seen Dumb And Dumber? If you have, you probably remember this pretty insane scene. It's where Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels' characters show up to a charity ball in wild matching orange and blue suits. They even have a hilarious mock battle with their canes.
And that's what Texas prom couple Brennon Allen and Olivia King channeled for their prom outfits. As reported by the New York Post, they were originally trying to find some unusual getups for their April 18 prom.
And that's when they came across the ironic clip from the 1994 comedy. Brennon recalled the moment he saw it. "I was talking to my girlfriend and was like, 'You know, it's our senior prom. I want to make it memorable.' Then, a clip from the movie popped up on Instagram."
His reaction? "That would be such a good color scheme to pick from". But you probably wouldn't expect the kids to really have much recollection of a 1994 film. After all, isn't it all about short, pithy TikToks these days?
But, Brennon's mom, Brooke, explained that she made sure her son knew of all the best films. "We're those parents that, we're like, 'You're going to watch all the classics,'" Brooke explained. And Brennon added, "She had to make sure I was raised right."

Brooke decided to make a before-and-after video of them. She recalled, "I just told them, kind of on a whim, I was like, 'Y'all hold hands and jump.' And then, when I got to prom, I was like, 'OK, do it again.' And I didn't know what I was gonna do with it."
She decided to post a video about it online. And then it blew up! She explained she "started getting all the notifications." The reaction to the video was pretty warm online.
Brennon said that his favorite comment was a reference to the movie. "People commented, 'Just when I think, this generation couldn't possibly be any dumber, they go and do something like this ... aaaaand TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!!!'" This reference comes from when Lloyd traded a van for a bike. Hilarious!
We hope they had the best time at their prom!
