A Lyft driver in Texas claimed a passenger attacked him by slashing his throat and stealing his car. This happened to 25-year-old Dilaver Berk who has just recently left the hospital after the terrifying encounter.

Berk told authorities in Frisco, Texas that late on December 16 he picked up a male passenger through Lyft. The male passenger suddenly attacked him from the back seat by stabbing his throat. Berk also claimed that the suspect attempted to choke him with a cable of some sort before stealing his car.
Lyft Driver Recovering From Severe Attack
After the incident, one of Berk's cousins set up a GoFundMe for his medical costs. They shared a photo displaying Berk's gruesome neck stitches, which we have blurred. The victim also had cuts in his hand, which doctors treated with bandages.
"His tragic event has not only left him in immense physical pain but has also placed a heavy financial and emotional burden on him, as he is unable to work while recovering," the fundraiser wrote. "Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference in helping Dilaver focus on healing without the stress of financial challenges."
Thankfully, the Frisco police were able to catch the 19-year-old suspect. Antwain Williams stole Berk's Toyota Camry after ditching Berk in the parking lot of the apartment. A woman then called 911 after seeing Berk in need of help.
Police were able to track down the vehicle near Highway 423 and Rockhill. Williams attempted to speed away after the cops tried to pull him over. It took Williams crashing the vehicle and fleeing on foot before the police eventually put him in handcuffs and arrested him.
The police charged Williams with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, on top of evading arrest. The suspect also already has an outstanding warrant.
Three days later, Berk's friend Dustin Tovi spoke to the press about the incident. "He was rushed to the hospital, thankfully. The paramedics got to him just in time," Tovi said. "The rider took a knife to Dilaver's throat and slashed his throat. He did that a couple of times."
Tovi continued to explain how his friend threw his hands up and asked Williams "Hey, whatever you want. Leave me alone." This didn't work, leading to the severe attack on Berk's hands and neck.
"He's somebody that works really hard, and it's really sad to see what happened to him," his friend stated. "Nobody deserves that, especially Dilaver because he works so hard."
Just a year ago, Berk moved to Texas from his home in Turkey. While working in America, Berk would send money to his parents back home.
