A Texas DJ fulfilled his lifelong wish just hours before he tragically died in a car crash. Erick "DJ Avenger" Del Campo had just finished performing at an MLB game, when he was involved in a car crash. He was just 44 years old.
According to People, the tragic incident happened on June 8. According to local authorities, Del Campo's car collided with another vehicle at around 2:30am local time.
Del Campo was pronounced dead at the hospital. Him and the other driver had been carted off to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. The condition of the other driver is unknown, but he is known to have sustained "unspecified injuries".
He had performed at the MLB game between the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Guardians at Globe Life Field in Mesquite, Texas. According to his brother, Mike, getting to perform at an MLB game was a "dream come true" for DJ Avenger.
But this wasn't DJ Avenger's first rodeo. He had actually built quite the following for himself in North Texas. His previous shows included performances at the American Airlines Center and at Texas Live!.
According to his Instagram, he also had a 14-year career DJing at Ojos Locos Sports Cantina.

The DJ's Brother Gave a Touching Tribute
Mike recalled Del Campo's love of music throughout his life. "I would be asleep, getting ready for school the next day, and he'd be up having his headphones on and I'd hear the music."
He continued, "I'm like, in shock just like everybody else. Erick, just know I love you, man." He also described his brother as "the epitome of that guy that would give you the shirt off his back."
According to WFAA, a friend of Del Campo remembered him as "electric". Another friend added, "I can only describe him with one word, and that's genuine."
People on social media also shared this sentiment. One commentor wrote, "Rest in peace. Thanks for the hype you provided and congratulations for getting to play that stage. God bless."
