Texas Country Singer Cameran Nelson Shares Details of Fatal Bus Crash

A rising Texas country singer and his band were involved in a fatal accident over the 4th of July weekend.

Cameran Nelson and his band were on the way to Del Rio, Texas for a performance when another car hit their tour bus. Nelson, who was driving, swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision.

On Sunday, Nelson shared details of the crash to Facebook. "As the car passed my window I could see that the driver was slumped over and appeared to be asleep," Nelson wrote. He added, "As soon as I got the bus stopped, I yelled back to my crew and made sure I heard all of their voices. I immediately ran straight to the car to check on the other driver, but it was clear that he had already passed. We were in a very rural area with no cell service."

Although they ended up in a ditch, Nelson and his band were unharmed. However, the trailer broke away from the bus and was destroyed in the collision. Sadly, the driver of the other vehicle lost his life.

Thank goodness Nelson and his band all made it out without injuries. The band lost equipment, but you can replace stuff. An accident like that really puts life into perspective.

Unfortunately, more than $10,000 of the band's equipment was damaged or destroyed in the accident. Nelson's tour manager has opened a GoFundMe page to help the group recoup some of their losses.
