In a tale that could only ever come from an American high school, a cheerleader has allegedly been driven to goat poisoning by her hubris.

17-year-old Aubrey Vanlandingham had it all going on for her. She was well-loved in a respected school in Austin, Texas, and was well on her way to academic success. She was a member of the cheerleading squad, but more importantly, president of the school's Future Farmers of America.
Beside her on her rise to power stood her goat, Lacey. She paraded it, showing it off at shows, winning prizes, and wooing judges. However, there was a rival on the horizon, threatening Aubrey's glory. Allegedly poisoning her rival's goat was the only way to ensure her domination in the FFA.
Willy, another brown and white goat, was too much of a challenge to Aubrey. It had to go. So, drastic measures were taken, and Aubrey got to googling.
Clear Cut Case For Goat Poisoning Teen
Unfortunately for Aubrey, there is too much evidence against her for her to deny poisoning the goat. There is footage, many Google searches, a goat autopsy, and her unabashed admittance. Although, she denied the act, briefly.
She admitted to poisoning the rival's goat with pesticides. In a statement to the police, she said "I don't like cheaters." However, I feel poisoning your competition may count as cheating. Along with the admittance of guilt come a few other telling pieces of evidence.
Her Google history allegedly has the terms, "how much bleach kills a goat," "If goats inject bleach do they die," and "poisoning pets, what you should know." Hardly subtle, Audrey. Learn how to delete your history, for goodness sake.
Footage of the incident has been recovered by police. It shows the process she took while poisoning the goat. Three different times Aubrey injected poison into the rival goat's mouth. Then, she proceeded to send a video of the dying animal to the mother of the goat's owner.
"She admitted to poisoning him multiple times over several days. So it's a pretty rough situation. We don't believe there is any remorse there, we hope that she has to serve jail time and she gets some kind of mental help," the mother told the DailyMail.
"It's all bizarre. We want justice served, we don't want a slap on the wrist. We want to make sure that she is punished. At this point, we don't feel like she thinks she's going to be punished and she needs to be. She needs to take ownership for what she's done."
If she is found guilty she may be sentenced to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Because of the way she treated the animal, it would be classed as torture.
