A Delta Air Lines plane flipped upside down after landing at the Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, February 17. Miraculously, no one aboard the plane died, despite it carrying 80 people. Footage has now been shared on social media, showing the terrifying moment in which the plane flips upside down on the icy tarmac.

User @airmainengineer on X shared the exact moment in which Endeavor Flight 4819, coming from Minneapolis, hits the ground while landing. The jet then scraps the runway, flipping to its left side, causing the left wing to be destroyed. Eventually, the plane stops completely upside down, as black smoke covers the runway.

As a result of the accident, and in miraculous fashion, only 18 people, including a child, were injured. According to the New York Post, paramedics at the scene reported that three people, including the child, were in critical condition. However, ABC News also reported that none of the injured suffered from life-threatening injuries. The rest of the plane's passengers only suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Toronto Pearson President and CEO Deborah Flint commended first responders for their actions, which resulted in no deaths.
"There was no loss of life, and this is in due part to our heroic and trained professionals, our first responders at the airport," Flint said.

Footage recorded by passengers also began to surface online. In particular, passenger Pete Koukov shared footage of the chaos that ensued inside the plane while they were being evacuated.
"Just feeling lucky and happy I got to give the person I didn't know sitting next to me a big hug, that we were OK, and see my friends who are here to pick me up from the airport and give them a big hug," Koukov said, according to the Daily Mail.
Similarly, passenger John Nelson shared a video online, showing the upside-down plane as he exited it following the crash.
"We're in Toronto. We just landed. Our plane crashed, it's upside down. Fire department is on site. It's upside down. Most people appear to be OK. We're all getting off. So [that's what's] going on," he said in the video.
Delta Accident
The Delta Air Lines flight took off from Minneapolis at about 11:47 a.m. on Monday. The plane then crashed in Toronto at about 2:15 p.m. According to the BBC, there were 76 passengers and four crew members aboard the plane. Toronto Airport Fire Chief Todd Aitken said that the runway was dry at the time. Moreover, there were no crosswind conditions either.
Delta Air Lines CEO, Ed Bastian, released a statement, addressing the accident that took place in Toronto.
"The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today's incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport," Bastian said. "I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site."
The cause of the accident is currently unknown and the whole incident is being investigated.
