NBC 6 shared the wild video. The incident happened Monday, around 6 pm at a Fort Lauderdale marina. People can be seen on and around the boat before it suddenly explodes. The top half of the vessel rears up as the flames and power bellow outward. It then collapses back down.

Through the video, the fire gets progressively worse. It spreads slowly but soon ends up in a huge blaze that sends a thick column of smoke into the sky. As the small vessel drifts backward, it collides with another small boat, and they both end up embroiled in flames.

Witnesses told the Miami Herald that they saw the boat fueling up before they heard the explosion, although it's unknown if that was the cause.

According to the outlet, Frank Guzman, spokesperson for Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, said that the five injured were taken to area hospitals. Three had traumatic injuries. The one who died was found in the water, likely an immediate death from the explosion.

Witness Speak Of Sudden Boat Explosion

Tamer Dimiati is a restaurant worker who jumped into the water to help after the explosion. He spoke to Local 10 about the experience.

"That boat is completely gone," he began. "After that, I ran out there to see if anybody needed help. One guy was on fire, another person was in the water. It was just chaos all at once."

Nate Hall was another witness who spoke to the outlet, and said, "I turned around, and the whole dock was on fire." She said the scene was surreal.

Witnesses also spoke to the Miami Herald. "I heard a huge explosion, and I looked over and [there was a woman] on the second floor of the boat," one witness said.

The Miami Herald also reported that the firefighters fought the inferno by 8 pm. Thankfully, fire crews were able to control the fuel that spilled into the water. The damage seems to have been contained and dealt with.

The victims of the explosion are in current unknown states.
