Tennessee Whiskey: The Musical promises to take audiences back in time to the Nashville music scene in the '70s, following the life of accomplished songwriter Dean Dillon. Dillon has written for artists like Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Chris Stapleton and Lee Ann Womack, but his best known contribution is a mind-boggling total of 63 songs for George Strait, the King of Country. Strait's character will obviously play a big role in the musical, so producers of the show are holding an open casting call to find the perfect person to fill his shoes.
Those who feel like they could accurately portray a young George Strait can apply online by posting a video of themselves singing a Dean Dillon song as Strait and uploading the clip to YouTube or Vimeo with the tag #TennesseeWhiskeyAudition. The lucky ones selected will have the opportunity to participate in callbacks in either New York City, Nashville or Las Vegas this summer.

The upcoming musical hasn't released information about their future venue yet, but it's known that Tennessee Whiskey: The Musical will have a Broadway staff and feature new songs written by Dillon in addition to hits like "The Chair," "Unwound," "Spilled Perfume," "Ocean Front Property," "If I Know Me," "Lying In Love With You" and "It's a Little Too Late." The production will honor Dillon with an emotional telling of finding his musical talents at a young age, dealing with alcohol and drug abuse and finding redemption for himself and his career.
