After having one too many drinks, 77-year-old Tennessee Senator Ken Yager failed a sobriety test after being pulled for a hit-and-run.

The heel-toe walk was a bit of a struggle for Ken Yager, as seen in the footage released. To be fair, a 77-year-old would probably find the act hard anyway, but the breathalyzer gave the game away.
After taking a fall in a parking lot, emergency services were helping the man back to his feet. However, police were also on the hunt for the man after a reported hit-and-run in the area. The police picked him up and asked him to prove his sobriety or lack thereof.
The police had been on the hunt for his car after it had been involved in the incident with another, earlier that day. Once they found it, the police immediately suspected that Ken Yager, Republican Senate Caucus Chair, had had a few drinks. His breath had given him away.
Ken Yager Comes Clean
The older man came clean about the hit-and-run stating that he was unaware that police had been called. He blew over on the breathalyzer, but the score won't be released until the investigation is over. However, after taking the breathalyzer, Ken Yager was arrested and charged with DUI and the hit-and-run before being taken to Glynn County Jail.
The wobbly politician has been humble about the situation, saying "On the advice of my attorney, I cannot discuss the particulars at this time. I am and will continue to cooperate fully with authorities to bring this incident to an appropriate conclusion."
This is no small situation for the aging senator though. If found guilty, Yager may lose his seat in Caucus. Due to ethics, it wouldn't be right for him to maintain his position. The decision to drunk drive could be the end of his career.
However, he's an older guy, and I am sure he's managed to put a fair few dollars away. Thankfully nobody was hurt in the drunken hit-and-run. But, if it happens again, he may not be quite so lucky. A driving ban will surely be on the cards if he is found guilty.
