Tennessee Jet's forthcoming album The Country (out Sept. 4 via Thirty Tigers) reflects the hardcore honky tonk and honest country songs that served as the soundtrack of his childhood, when he traveled on the rodeo circuit with his bronc-riding father and barrel-racing mother.
The album's latest release, "The Raven & the Dove," is a hopeful tune about finding balance. Tennessee Jet co-wrote the song with fellow country singer-songwriter Cody Jinks.
"I wrote 'The Raven & The Dove' with my friend Cody Jinks and it's my only co-write on the record. Cody and I wanted to write a song that could be played in a loud honkytonk on a Saturday night as well as a quiet church on Sunday morning," Tennessee Jet tells Wide Open Country. "I produced 'The Raven & The Dove' with Casey Diiorio at Valve Studios in Dallas and the production leans heavily on the themes of duality and contrast."
