A 19-year-old man has tragically died after falling onto subway tracks in Boston while trying to save his girlfriend.

The shocking incident occurred on Saturday, August 29, at the MBTA Forest Hills Station after the couple attended the Caribbean Carnival in the city.
The victim's family later identified him as Frankey Wright Jr.

Wright was with a young woman when she lost her balance at the station. The 19-year-old attempted to help her before falling into the track area himself.
Reports claim that Wright landed on the electrified third rail.
Emergency crews pronounced Wright dead at the scene, while they transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment.
"This appears to be a horrific tragedy and on behalf of the Transit Police Department and the entire MBTA organization we express our most sincere condolences to the decedent's family and friends," the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) said in a statement.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with them."
Wright's father said it was his son's first time riding the train and that the couple had been attending the festival before the tragedy.
"My son was a noble young man, and he lost his life trying to save the life of his girlfriend," he said.
Family and Friends Remember Frankey Wright Jr.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the fatal incident as they work to establish the events that led to Wright's death.
However, reports indicate that investigators do not suspect foul play.
Wright's loved ones have since created a GoFundMe, which has raised more than $11,500 toward its $16,000 goal.
"Those closest to him will always remember Frankey as a noble boy with a big heart, someone who put others before himself even in his final moments," the description reads.
The family created the fundraiser to give Wright "the good service he deserves and to honor his life with love and dignity".
Friends and family have also used the fundraiser to share memories of Wright and the impact he had on their lives.
"Donating in memory of someone who was so incredibly special to my son, Amari," Madeline Avon commented on the page.
"Frankey was more than just his BT—he was someone who made Amari feel loved, safe, understood, and cared for."
