Trinity Shockley, the 18-year-old who allegedly planned to carry out a mass shooting in Indiana on Valentine's Day, reportedly had an obsession with other known mass shooters. According to a probable cause affidavit, Shockley was "sexually attracted" to Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz, and had a collage of him, Dylann Roof, and Andrew Blaze, both mass shooters, in her room.

The affidavit, obtained by WISH and written by Detective Matthew M. McDaniel, shows a conversation between Shockley and two other individuals in Discord, allegedly discussing her mass shooting plans. During a conversation with the user "TCC Marna," Shockley allegedly shared a photo of a collage picturing Dylann Roof. He is the mass murderer who perpetrated the Charleston church shooting. Alongside this, Shockley also allegedly sent pictures of AR15 rifles.
After the conversation transcription, the affidavit describes a February 11 meeting between Trinity Shockley and school counselor Laura Mikesell at Mooresville High School. Shockley would reveal to Mikesell her sexual attraction toward Cruz.
"Trinity wanted to speak with Miss Mikesell about some ongoing issues and ended up disclosing to her that she was sexually attracted to Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland School Shooter," the affidavit reads. "Trinity spoke about how she wanted to have multiple children with Nikolaz and that she has already named the children."
The document states that Shockley told Mikesell that she had contacted Cruz several times. She also showed the counselor a "heart locket necklace" that displayed the mass murderer's photo inside.
Apartment Search
The following day, on February 12, Detective McDaniel arrived at Shockley's apartment, where she lives with her father. There, she found the same collage that was shown at the aforementioned Discord conversation.
"I observed in Trinity's bedroom some photos on the wall depicting Dylann Roof that matched the collage on Discord," the affidavit reads. "I also knew that this was Trinity's room because it contained all of her belongings and her school backpack."
Detective McDaniel then took the mass murderers' photographs and gathered them as evidence. He would then find a poster of the movie Zero Day, a found-footage movie that revolves around a school shooting. Moreover, Shockley also had a framed photo of Dylann Roof. She also had Nikolas Cruz as her laptop wallpaper, according to the document.
Trinity Shockley was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and two terrorism-related charges, according to the New York Post.
