Teen Accidentally Shoots And Kills Brother, Father Dies From Heart Attack Trying To Save Him

A teen allegedly shot and killed his older brother by accident at a residence in Texas. The father then died from a medical condition while trying to save his son.

The horrific incident took place on Monday 13 in Texas City early in the morning at around 1:15 am. A report by Fox 26 reveals that 17-year-old Joshua Gonzales was shot by his younger brother. Police report that the father, Julian Gonzales, tried to save his son but suffered a fatal heart attack.

According to Click 2 Houston, detectives questioned the 15-year-old, and he is now in his mother's care. It's up to the district attorney's office if any charges will be filed against the teenager. The Daily Mail elaborates that the Texas City Police Department will provide further details after the district attorney's office has concluded its investigation.

Friends And Family Are Concerned About The 15 Year Old Teen

Loved ones are in mourning over the two deaths but are also deeply concerned about the teen who fired the weapon. The Texas School District sent their condolences and expressed their sadness over losing one of their students to the tragedy.

According to multiple reports, Julian was a beloved tattoo artist and the owner of Artistic Image Tattoo Studio.

In a heartbreaking interview with Fox, Melo Salazar, Julian's business partner, said, "All that trauma, pain, and questions and 'what if?.' Blaming yourself and all that even though it was just a mere accident."

Fighting back tears, Salazar adds, "I lost someone who was dear to me. I lost my business partner and a good man. He's never going to be here. I'm going to be here, but it's going to be empty, and it's not the same. I've known Jay for at least 25 years."

"He is family. He's always going to be family. That's never going to change. Blood couldn't make us any closer. He wasn't my blood family, but he was my brother."

When asked about the sons, Salazar explained that Julian was "all about those boys as a single father. Everything he did was for them."
