It's always disgusting when someone takes advantage of another person who can't truly take care of themselves. To use their power to exploit them, it's the kind of evil that makes your stomach turn. Recently, former Colorado teacher 28 year old Imagine Kay Ewer admitted to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old special needs student. Ewer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison.

The teacher gets off with this sentence because of a plea deal she agreed upon with the prosecutors. They only charge her with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the first degree. The three other felony counts and one misdemeanor were promptly dismissed afterwards.

The court hearing sees the victim's mother lash out at Ewer's actions towards her son. "The defendant preyed on my son, leading him to believe she genuinely cared for him, all while exploiting him for money and manipulating him into thinking he was 'the one,'" she says in a statement addressing the teacher. "What makes this even more painful is that I trusted the defendant. Had I known what was truly happening, I would never have allowed her such close access to him."
The specifics of Ewer's actions are particularly disgusting, introducing the 16 year old to fentanyl. Additionally, she urges the student at the time to bring a gun to "shoot another faculty member in the leg." The evidence piles up since September 2023 and it finally comes to light in November that year when a teacher saw "inapproriate writing" and called the police. The teacher blankly gives an empty statement, apologizing for her actions. "I just want to apologize to the victim and the victim's family," the teacher says. "I'm really sorry; this will never happen again."
