"I've been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single 'Patient Zero' will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it's available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours," she wrote on Instagram.
A New Taylor Swift Song Is Coming
After the "Blank Space" singer shared the news, her website offered three variations of the song on CD for pre-order. Fans can choose from the original, a piano version, and an acoustic version.
The CD covers feature three different pictures of Swift. The trim around each disc comes in black, orange, and blue, while Swift's wardrobe stays black.
The discs are available for $3.99 while supplies last.
Does This Mean a New Album Is Coming?
It is unclear if "Patient Zero" is part of a new album. It follows the original song she wrote and produced with Jack Antonoff for Toy Story 5, "I Knew It, I Knew You."
The song was recently nominated for Single of the Year at this year's CMA Awards. She shared earlier this month that she will appear at the show, scheduled for Nov. 18.
"I Knew It, I Knew You" was the first song by Swift to reach the top of the US Country radio charts in 13 years.
The track has also been a huge hit on Spotify, amassing over 180 million streams. The music video has racked up over 26 million views on YouTube in just three months.
But Swift is facing stiff competition in the category. The other nominees include Cody Johnson's "The Fall" and "Somewhere Over Laredo" by Lainey Wilson. There are also two songs by Ella Langley that are nominated: "Be Her" and the massive hit, "Choosin' Texas."
It's also worth noting that "Patient Zero" is the first piece of music Swift has released since she and Travis Kelce tied the knot in July.
