Taylor Swift teams up with the Dixie Chicks on the intimate "Soon You'll Get Better," the 12th track from Swift's new album Lover (released on August 23).
The tender song captures how helpless you can feel when a loved one gets sick, leaving you to put faith in religion and little "orange bottles" of pills.
"Holy orange bottles/ Each night I pray to you," Swift sings. "Desperate people find faith so I pray to Jesus too."
The Dixie Chicks provide stunning backing harmonies on the chorus and the bridge as Swift contemplates the fears and uncertainties that swirl around doctor's offices and hospitals.
"And I hate to make this all about me but who am I supposed to talk to? What am I supposed to do? If there's no you?"
Earlier this year, Swift shared in an essay for Elle that her mother Andrea's cancer had returned four years after she first battled the disease.
"My mom's cancer is a real problem. I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress, and prayers to real problems now," Swift wrote.

Rumors of a Dixie Chicks collaboration were confirmed last week when Swift posted the track list for Lover. The country trio made a cameo of sorts in Swift's video for "ME!," the first release from her seventh album. The band can be seen in a painting on a wall in Swift's apartment in the video — a nod to Swift's lyric "there's a lotta cool chicks out there."
Earlier this summer, Natalie Maines posted the announcement that the Dixie Chicks are working on a long awaited new album of their own. The release date for the album has not yet been announced.
