Fans' voices get heard at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA), with streaming and sales figures determining each category's winner. For 2023, Swifties roared as loudly and clearly as ever. Taylor Swift won trophies this year including in the categories for Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excluding U.S.) Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Artist and Top Selling Song ("Anti-Hero").
"Well, this is unreal. The fact that you guys have given me 10 Billboard awards — I'm talking to the fans, specifically. None of this happens without you," Swift said in an acceptance speech pre-taped during the ongoing South American leg of her Eras Tour. "Billboards base everything off of what you are listening to and what you're passionate about. And I'm so honored that this year you made the tour, The Eras Tour, so magical. You went and saw the movie, you cared about my rerecords. I just, like, I love you so much. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make. So thank you, thank you, thank you, 10 million times, for this."
Swift won the second most BBMAs in 2023, behind fellow Nashville product Morgan Wallen, who won 11. Swift's 10 wins ups her career total to 39, tying her with Drake for the most BBMA trophies in a single career.
On the touring front, Swift wraps up her 2023 obligations with a three-day stand on Nov. 24-26 in São Paolo, Brazil. In personal news, a popular rumor claims that the singer's parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, will meet Travis Kelce's parents, Donna and Ed, at tonight's (Nov. 20) Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
