Tattoo Artist Sparks Outrage Over Giving 9 Year A Tattoo

In Arizona, a minor is allowed to get a tattoo, as long as their parents consent. But, a tattoo artist has caused a bit of a stir after inking the American flag on a 9-year-old girl.

Originally, the girl and her parent wanted to get the face of President-Elect Donald Trump tattooed on her neck. This act was cleverly dissuaded by the artist. He instead convinced them that the American flag was enough to show their patriotic pride.

Even then, he still tried to convince them otherwise. On the Black Onyx Empire Instagram page, the tattoo artist states "Btw tried to scare them away with saying 500$ for this snap 80$ tat but they jumped on that price instead." It wasn't enough to keep them away though, and the parent and 9-year-old decided to go ahead with the tattoo.

Now, the 9-year-old girl has an American flag tattoo on her shoulder. It's a weird one for a kid to get really. Why not dragons, motorcycles, or butterflies?

Serious Backlash For 9-year-old Tattoo

Black Onyx Empire Tattoo has got a lot of hate for tattooing the young girl. Despite it being allowed by the law, many people have attacked the tattoo parlor for going ahead with it. Honestly, though, it isn't the artist who should be getting grief, it's the USA-obsessed parents who either went along with or convince their child to get the tatoo.

Since posting the video on Instagram, the tattoo parlor has removed comments from the post. However, people have taken to other places to berate the tattoo parlor for the 9-year-old tattoo. "The tattoo artist should be arrested for their role in this horrific act. Just because something might be legal doesn't make it right."

One woman has even gone so far as to write to the child protection agencies about the parents and the tattoo shop. Despite it being completely legal, she believes it still equates to child abuse. Maybe putting a tattoo on a 9-year-old child is a bit of a strange thing to do, but if it's legal, do they really have a case?
