Now, there are two new Tater Tot shapes on store shelves that are surefire treats to please your palate. This is a bold move by Ore-Ida, the company behind Tater Tots. No new shapes of the luscious morsels have been introduced in almost 20 years. It was time for a welcome Tater Tot refresh!

The New Shapes Are Dino and Star

One new Tot shape builds on the public's fascination with the mammoth ancient creatures that once roamed the Earth - dinosaurs. Who doesn't marvel at these gigantic, somewhat bizarre-looking animals whose fierceness and predatory nature made them rulers of their habitat? If you have ever seen Jurassic Park and loved it, then Dino Tater Tots will be gracing your dinner table soon.

The other new shape is the Star, to commemorate America's upcoming 250th birthday. Per a press release from KraftHeinz, there will also be "limited-edition packaging" for the item to honor the nation's historic milestone. You can be patriotic with Star Tater Tots as part of your picnic feast, BBQ, or typical meal.

Both new shapes still feature the classic goodness consumers have associated with Tater Tots for over seven decades.

An Ore-Ida Exec Touted the New Tater Tots

One executive with the brand is excited about the new Dino and Star shapes. She undoubtedly hopes you share her enthusiasm. Per the press release, Senior Brand Manger of Ore-Ida Claire Lukaszewski noted, "Ore-Ida invented Tater Tots - and now, we're shaping what comes next. With Dino and Star Tater Tots, we're building on more than 70 years of potato expertise to bring new energy to the category - delivering the same great taste people expect in formats that feel fun, relevant, and made for today."
