If you've been watching HGTV's Flip or Flop since the beginning, you know that Tarek El Moussa has had a wild ride since becoming a household name. After years of hosting the popular show with his ex-wife Christina, he dealt with a serious health scare and an incredibly public breakup. Now years after the drama has faded, Tarek is happily in a healthy new relationship and continues to star in his successful series with Christina Haack.
Tarek and Christina first met when they were working as real estate agents in Orange County, California. After the real estate market crashed in 2008 they decided to start flipping houses and discovered they were pretty darn good at it. They decided to submit a tape following the process of flipping a house to HGTV and a few years later...Flip or Flop officially aired in 2013. The couple welcomed daughter Taylor and with a successful show on the air, everything was looking great for the El Moussa family.
After the show's first season aired, a registered nurse noticed a lump on Tarek's neck and called the network in concern. She quite literally saved his life because it was discovered that he actually had testicular cancer and thyroid cancer. The TV star pulled through and as a result of in-vitro fertilization, the couple was able to welcome son Brayden in 2015. But the following year, things really took a turn.

In May of 2016, Christina called the police after Tarek was seen leaving their house with a gun in hand. Once apprehended, he said he brought it for protection from animals on a hike, though his wife was worried he was suicidal. The media coverage of this encounter was intense, and it really wasn't a surprise when the couple filed for divorce the following January.
Christina went on to marry host Ant Anstead in 2018, though her days of being Christina Anstead were short-lived as the couple called it quits after two years of marriage. She had another baby and has her own TV show Christina on the Coast...but more importantly it seems like she's getting along with her ex-husband.
Tarek had a rough couple of years but it seems like he's finally in a really good place. He's currently engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young. Considering Heather is also a reality TV star with expertise in real estate, they seem to be a perfect match. Based on all of the sweet photos they share on social media, it's clear that Heather not only gets along well with Tarek's two children but that they met each other at the right time.
In addition to co-parenting Taylor and Brayden with his ex-wife, Tarek still stars on his hit HGTV show with Christina. While it's certainly a different experience for fans to watch these days, there's no denying that the two of them make a great team and know what they're doing in terms of home renovation. They just make better business partners than life partners. He even has his own new show on Discovery Plus — Tarek's Flip Side and continues advocating for the real estate industry and regularly talks about how it completely changed his life.
