Interestingly, Sweeney might already have the blueprint for how to deal with the level of attention she draws. According to TMZ, the Euphoria star is related to none other than the late, great Marilyn Monroe.
The fun part of all this is that people have been calling Sweeney the second coming of Monroe for years.
"Sydney and Marilyn are ninth cousins, once removed ... according to a new study conducted by MyHeritage," TMZ reported. "It's fascinating ... Sydney and Marilyn's family trees actually connect through a shared ancestor from the 1600s."
The outlet added that Sweeney's father, Steven Sweeney, and Monroe's father, Charles Stanley Gifford, both descend from Ezra Perry.
Ok, so ninth cousins, once removed, isn't the closest of relations. However, the fact remains that they both share a family tree. Sure, different branches, but the same tree nonetheless. So, next time you're told that Sweeney is the new Marilyn, you'd be right to say, 'Well, actually, they're related.' Nothing like some watercooler knowledge during a workday, right?
Sydney Sweeney Is Keeping Busy
Related to Marilyn Monroe or not, there's no doubting Sweeney's work ethic. She isn't one to vanish from our screens for too long. According to IMDB, Sweeney currently has nine projects in the works. She's scheduled to reprise her role as Millie Calloway in The Housemaid's Secret, which is due to release in 2027.
Sweeney will also play a role in the upcoming release of Gundam, which is also scheduled for 2027, as is Custom Of The Country.
That's not all, though. Sweeney is also set to play a role in Sleepy Hollow, where she'll play Katrina Van Tassell. We'll also see her as Macy Mullins in The Caretaker, and there is a rumored role for Kim Novak in Scandalous, among others.
Sweeney is going to be everywhere in the coming years, as she continues to enjoy her fame and all the opportunities that come with it. Maybe being related to Marilyn did come with a blueprint for navigating Hollywood, but that's something we'll never know.
