According to Nola.com, the Kenner Police Department has been receiving calls from Colbert's alleged victims. Among them is the family of a 55-year-old Maryland man called John Jenkins, who was found dead in a hotel room in New Orleans back in December 15.

While authorities classified Jenkins's death as accidental, as he died of a combined toxicity of cocaine and ethanol, the family has revealed several details that seem, at least suspicious.

Jenkins's relatives report that he had traveled to New Orleans to attend a Sants and Washington Commanders game alongside friends. The last time he was seen was on Saturday, December 14, while he was walking down Bourbon Street.

Jenkins Found Dead

After Jenkins failed to appear at the game the very next day, his friends requested a wellness check. Authorities then found Jenkins unconscious in his hotel room. Moreover, Kenner Police Deputy Chief Mark McCormick revealed that Jenkins was also missing property. John Jenkins's death is now under investigation, as authorities look into a possible connection between his death and Danette Colbert.

Other victims that have come forward include 52-year-old David Butler, who also had a traumatic experience with Colbert. According to him, he met Colbert back in November 2021. He was approached by Colbert and another woman, offering drinks. Butler would then agree to Colbert's request to accompany home after he began feeling "woozy." That was the last thing he remembered.

Butler would then wake up to find his cell phone, credit cards, and thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency stolen. Colbert was convicted in October 2024 of computer fraud, theft, and illegal transmission of monetary funds, according to the New York Post.

She received five years of probation and was ordered to pay restitution. According to Butler, he has not received a single penny since. Moreover, he blasts Colbert's sentence. To him, if Colbert had spent years in prison, Manzano's death could have been avoided.
