Hear Gretchen Wilson's Sunny New Single 'Summertime Town'

Gretchen Wilson is ready to make a country comeback with her latest album. But her new single may surprise some longtime fans.

"Summertime Town" is the second single from Ready to Get Rowdy, and shows off a very different side of Wilson. Most of us are used to her punchy and unapologetic attitude, but this latest cut takes things a little easier. Instead of throwing back whiskey or calling out a jerk, the lyrics to "Summertime Town" are all about going with the flow - or the summer breeze.

It will be interesting to see if established fans connect with the sound, which feels more Tom Petty than Waylon. But hey, that's not a bad thing. Wilson's vocals are as strong as ever, and the narrative of a romance that disappears as quick as the summer sun is plenty refreshing.
