Stripping Skeleton Decor Has Neighbors Divided

Spooky, sexy skeletons

This pole dancer heard "take it off!" and didn't stop after the clothes.

A suggestive Halloween display has shaken a community to the bone. One randy resident in Grantsville City, Utah, posed a plastic skeleton to look like it was pole dancing on a street sign. He also arranged two patron skeletons enjoying the show from the comfort of lawn chairs, stacks of cash clutched in their skinless fingers.

But Grantsville City was none too pleased with the sultry skeleton exhibit. They posted a photo of the show and demanded the person responsible take it down.

It's worth noting that the city didn't say they opposed the decor because it was lude. Rather, it goes against city code to attach anything to a street sign. While the city says it's a matter of law, not taste, we can't help but feel a slightly more wholesome display wouldn't have been flagged.

The community itself has mixed feelings about the crude cadavers. Some may be miffed at the prospect of explaining what the skeletons are doing to a young child. But others, including those in the comment section of local independent publication The Ogdenite, are ready for an encore.

"Breaking News?? SKELLIES HAVE GONE WILD ALL OVER THE STATE OF UTAH AND CITY OFFICIALS IN GRANTSVILLE ARE NOT AMUSED TODAY," captioned The Ogdenite. "'We were bone to be wild,' they say. City demands skeletons go back in the closet."

"Lol talk about a buzzkill," commented one Instagram user. "Skeletons can't even strip in Utah, [what the hell]," said another, adding, "I want to be their neighbor." A third follower asked, "Perhaps if the pole dancer were to wear a swimsuit it would be more appropriate in their neighborhood?"

One user offered up a pragmatic solution to keep the display alive — well, as alive as it can be. "So, put up a pole on your property, and move the display in your yard," they suggested.

Sounds like a win-win to us.
