Steel Wheels

Ep. 31 The Steel Wheels

The Steel Wheels are an Americana group from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Their new album, Wild As We Came Here, is out this Friday (May 5).

Their music fuses the spirit of Appalachian mountain music with elements of modern Americana. Rich harmonies and impeccable musicianship form the core of every song they play.

I caught up with the band in the green room of the Cactus Cafe in Austin, Texas shortly before their show to talk about the new record and their upcoming third annual Red Wing Roots Music Festival. This year's impressive lineup includes Steve Earle, Tim O'Brien, Lake Street Dive and many more.

Trent Wagler leads the band and the conversation during the podcast. You'll also hear from the other members Eric Brubaker (fiddle) Jay Lapp (mandolin) and Brian Dickel (bass).

Check their tour dates to see if they are performing in a town near you. Their show is one you don't want to miss.
