Spring Breaker Twerking on Jeep Thrown From Vehicle in Horrifying Crash

Spring breakers get rambunctious. Sometimes they get dangerously out of hand. One young person has a head injury from reveling gone wrong.

Students on spring break like to kick up their heels. Far from the watchful eyes of concerned parents, they may drink a tad too much, stay out too late, or indulge in shenanigans that are kind of silly. But what happened to a very unfortunate spring breaker in Texas goes way beyond that. It was a dreadful tragedy that impacted a young person's life just as it was starting.

Per the New York Post, "A half-naked reveler in Texas twerked atop a speeding SUV moments before the vehicle's drunk driver smashed into a car and sent him flying,..." The incident took place in Port Aransas, which is close to Corpus Christi. It has become a favorite destination for college students on spring break.

The injured twerker is 22 years old. He reportedly has a head injury.

The Jeep Operator Was Arrested for DWI and Charged With Intoxication Assault

Per KIIITV via court documents, the man driving the Jeep, whose name is reportedly Riley Rhoades, allegedly registered .14 and .12 on breath tests. Rhoades was arrested for DWI and will be charged with intoxication assault. He is in jail at this time.

Mayor of Port Aransas Says Preparations Are Made for the Influx of Spring Breakers

College students love to congregate during their break in places like Port Aransas. They can definitely cause disruptions due to their sometimes unruly behavior. Harmless hijinks can easily turn perilous. On the other hand, the money students spend contributes to the economic health of communities like that.

As many as 80,000 to 100,000 people flock to Port Aransas for spring break, per the outlet. That is an enormous flow of people for law enforcement to contend with.

Port Aransas Mayor Wendy Moore said this. "We do have a very large first responder presence and they do a lot of training, we bring people in from around the state to help support us to manage the crowds."

A Member of the Port Aransas Police Department Said "Unsafe Conduct" by Visitors Is Not Tolerated

Lt. Mike Hannon said per the outlet that people acting unlawfully or hazardously will not be allowed to do so.

"What the community does not want here, what we are looking for, is bad conduct. unsafe conduct, people that are driving in an unsafe way. conducting themselves in an unsafe way. We've done that with a much higher level of enforcement, citations, and arrests, we're hoping to deter that, and have people who want to come here for that purpose, not come here."
