According to the New York Post, legendary filmmaker Spike Lee was involved in a heated altercation with a fan.

Lee, a lifelong New York sports fanatic, arrived at Yankees Stadium to take in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series.

When he arrived, Lee was his usual welcoming self. He took photos with fans and cheered on the Yankees, the outlet reported.

One fan allegedly decided to use his photo freebie to make a controversial request.

The unidentified person allegedly asked Lee to say "F—k Palestine." This prompted the famed director to seek security.

Video footage of the incident shows Lee shouting at the fan while being restrained.

"Why did you come over to me?" he shouted, visibly ticked off.

The unidentified person was escorted out by security. Lee and other diners stayed for the remainder of the game, in which the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 9-2 to advance to the ALDS.

Lee was also in attendance on Tuesday for the series opener. After the game, Lee posted a photo on Instagram of him and his daughter, Satchel, behind the Yankees dugout.

"Had a great time taking my daughter Satchel (Yes, named after Satchel Paige) to NY Yankees playoff game versus da Boston Red Sox," he captioned the photo, adding, "Yankees won 9-0. A Boogie Down Bronx Beatdown."

Although he grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, Lee has openly supported the Yankees in recent years.

His New York fandom is not limited to baseball. Lee has held Knicks season tickets since 1985 and has supported the team longer than that.

In 2024, the NBA announced he would be recognized as a SuperFan in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

"I Sincerely Thank The Basketball Hall Of Fame For This Totally Unexpected Blessing. For My Love Of Basketball And My Crazy Love For The NEW YORK KNICKERBOCKERS!" Lee wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
