South Carolina Man Takes Things Too Far When Playing Alarming Prank On Ex-Girlfriend

I have never been a fan of pranks — even the simple ones. To me, they just always ended badly. I never found joy in someone else's displeasure. However I can admit that there are different levels to pranks. Well, this one South Carolina man apparently missed that memo. Instead, he takes thing way too far when he plays an alarming prank on his ex-girlfriend.

South Carolina Man Takes Things Too Far With An Alarming Prank

When thinking of a harmless prank you usually think of a prank phone call or something that does not cause anyone physical harm. Well, this South Carolina man decided to step it up a notch. Although he claims that he never intended to cause physical harm, it is difficult to believe given his actions.

The NY Post shares that Jackson Collum Arnold and his ex-girlfriend were in an on-again, off-again sort of relationship. According to Arnold, the pair had recently gotten into a dispute through text message. Rather than dwell on their disagreement, Arnold decided to try and lighten the mood. However flowers and an apology were not what he had in mind.

Instead, the South Carolina man decided he wanted to play a prank or his on and off again girlfriend. However, he takes things too far with an alarming prank that landed him behind bars. He decided to hide in his ex-girlfriend's shower with a knife to "surprise" her at midnight. I don't know why he assumed this would end well, but here we are.

Poor Girl Gets The Scare Of A Lifetime

As the girl entered the room, Arnold jumped out of the shower holding the knife. However, initially she did not know that it was Arnold that was hiding in her shower. That is because he "used a pair of his ex's bike shorts and a hat to cover most of his face." Another interesting part of his "prank" is that he chose to remain "naked from the waist down." Was he hoping to get lucky after giving this poor girl the scare of a lifetime — I guess we may never know.

The NY Post reports, "The victim accused Arnold of holding a knife to the side of her head, and when she pushed him away, he pretended he was slicing her throat, though the knife didn't touch skin." Although the knife never sliced her skin, the mental effects of this alarming prank definitely left their mark.

The victim shared that she feared for her life and that she was going to be sexually assaulted, until Arnold removed the shorts and revealed himself to her. When police arrived to the scene Arnold defended his actions saying he just wanted to "surprise" his ex-girlfriend and help to "lighten the mood after their fight."

However the great lengths that he took to create this "surprise" make it even more suspicious. Such as leaving his phone at home so the victim couldn't track his location. Or the fact that he parked several hundred feet away. Eventually, police decided to arrest him. The Post reports, "He was booked early Sunday on charges of assault and battery, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime." Hopefully this South Carolina man will think twice before taking things too far next time.
