Elijah Bieniemy, 27, who is the son of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, has reportedly been arrested. He allegedly shot his mother, Mia, 57, per ESPN. The incident occurred at the Bieniemys' residence in Loudoun County, Virginia on the night of Sunday, July 26. She is hospitalized in stable condition," according to the outlet.

She was allegedly wounded in the arm and chest. Per the outlet, Elijah Bieniemy has been arrested for the shooting. Charges he is reportedly facing include discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
According to ESPN, Leah Paul, a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, stated that police went to a home on the early evening of July 26. That home is in Ashburn, Vitginia, on Northpark Drive. Law enforcement allegedly went there in response to a shooting. The circumstances leading up to the alleged incident are unclear at this time.
Where is Eric Bieniemy?
Eric Bieniemy was not present at practice on Monday. Per ESPN, "He was with the Chiefs on Sunday in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the campus of Missouri Western State for their second practice of training camp."
Additionally, the Kansas City Chiefs said in a statement that the team knows about this situation, per the outlet. Furthermore, according to Loudoun Now, the Chiefs noted, "The club is aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy's family. Out of respect for their privacy, we won't have a comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them."
Citing Court Documents, There Were Four People in the House at the Time
Loudoin Now cited documents from the Loudoun County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. In fact, a total of four individuals were allegedly at home when the alleged incident happened. They were reportedly "The suspect, victim, and two other people...." The names of the two others who were there were not disclosed.

Bieniemy, 56, is from New Orleans. Besides the Chiefs, he has also coached the Washington Commanders, the Colorado Buffaloes, and the UCLA Bruins.
