Theft is bad, but the theft of baby Jesus will reserve you an extra special place in hell unless redemption is sought with a rather funny note.

On December 17th, footage was released of a young man stealing the baby Jesus from the Colorado Fire Station nativity. The images captured show the man, clearly having a funny time, running with the holy infant. "This Grinch tried to ruin Christmas by stealing the Baby Jesus from the Old Town Square nativity scene," the station posted.
People were urged to locate the man, and aid in the return of the child of god. But, his conscience kicked in, and he returned the baby Jesus himself. Some sins weigh too heavily. Or, maybe he just sobered up and the morning after anxiety got to him. But, either way, the young thief wasn't ready to be the father of a prophet just yet.
So, he returned the baby Jesus to the fire station in Colorado with a note apologizing for the theft. "I am really sorry, I made a dumb mistake in the moment, it won't happen again," he said. Perhaps his guilt and realization of what he had done had caught up to him. Maybe the lord our Saviour had come down for a quick word on the sins of stealing too.
Repent And You Shall Be Forgiven
That little baby eventually grew up to give us all eternal forgiveness. Little old baby Jesus died for our sins, giving us a get-out clause for all our naughtiness. In fact, even stealing him from a nativity can be forgiven with the right repentance.
"Guess what, he apparently had a change of heart and repented, God says if someone does them things it is forgiven, and blotted out from their book of life, like it never happened." one commenter on X said. Because of his honesty, he is free from blame or persecution.
From the pictures posted by the Colorado Fire Department, it looks like the sins have been forgiven. The happy firemen are seen posing with their recovered infant, alive and well — well for a statue anyways.
