Soap Opera Star Arrested on DUI Charges in Florida After Alleged Crash

Colleen Zenk was arrested on May 15, following a two-vehicle crash in Florida. The As The World Turns star, 73, is now facing two misdemeanor DUI charges.

"Zenk was charged with DUI causing damage to property or another person, and DUI with a blood alcohol level of 0.15 or higher, records show," PEOPLE reports.

According to a representative of Colleen's, who spoke with PEOPLE, Colleen will be defending the charges currently levied against her.

"The charges are being defended," the rep said. "Ms. Zenk has not been convicted of anything. The truth will be played out in court."

A witness, who spoke with deputies who attended the scene of the crash, noted that they saw Colleen reversing out of a handicap parking space when she hit a parked car. According to the witness, Colleen continued moving after hitting the vehicle before she was stopped a short distance later.

"A responding sergeant noted in the report that he detected the odor of alcohol," PEOPLE reports. "After the crash inquiry concluded, deputies initiated a DUI investigation. According to the report, Zenk told officers she had been at Bar Tulia, where she said she consumed 'two wine cups.'"

Colleen Zenk Has Faced DUI Charges Before

This isn't the first time Colleen has faced DUI charges. According to court records, she was charged in May 2017. She also has a charge from 2010, where law officials alleged that she was driving erratically while also making improper lane changes. Colleen received a DUI charge and an improper lane change charge for the 2010 incident.

Following Colleen's latest arrest, she reportedly posted breath samples of 0.206 and 0.192 BAC, per PEOPLE.

"Court records show Zenk posted bond after her arrest and has since entered a not guilty plea through counsel," PEOPLE reports. "Her next scheduled court appearance is a pre-trial hearing set for July 29 in Collier County."

It will be interesting to see how Colleen's latest brush with the law plays out. Clearly, there is a pattern forming with her interactions with the police.
