Wait, Snoop Dogg said what at the Golden Globes?

Before announcing the winner of the Best Podcast category at this year's Golden Globes, Snoop Dog got real with the crowd. Apparently, a little too real for CBS, who actually cut his comments out of the original broadcast.
As he was opening the envelope onstage, Snoop Dogg took a moment to recognize the new category. "Best podcast is a very important category for me, because before podcasts, I was what you all listened to, driving around in your cars," the 17-time Grammy-nominated artist joked. "To you podcasters, y'all better hope I don't get in that game."
Naming off the nominees, he quipped, "You're all winners, but the real winner," and then stepped back to laugh. "I'm high as a motherf***er right now. Y'all had me here too damn long."
He then presented the award to Amy Phoeler for her podcast Good Hang.
What Amy Phoeler Had To Say About Her Best Podcast Win
This year marks the 83rd annual Golden Globes, an award show that has stood the test of time. Since 1944, the Globes have acted as a tool for those hoping to be nominated for the Oscars or Emmys. Especially since January is when Oscar and Emmy voters start casting ballots, winning or being nominated for a Globe can help put people on the map.
In recent years, two new categories have been added to the Golden Globes' roster, setting the award show apart from the Oscars and Emmys by making it more adaptable to different types of media.
The newly added categories are Best Podcast (2026) and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy (2024). This year, comedian Ricky Gervais took home the award for best stand-up for his Netflix special Ricky Gervais: Mortality. Amy Phoeler took home the award for Best Podcast, of course.
Phoeler was honest in her speech about the over-celebrification of the podcast space, which has been a topic of controversy in recent years as the medium continues to grow. She addressed the topic in the best way she knows how, with humor and irony.
"I know that I am new to this game," Phoeler shared. "I have great respect for this form. She continued, "I am big fans of all of you (those nominated) —except for NPR! Just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. Try harder."
Those interested can watch the full Golden Globes' ceremony on Paramount+ or via the CBS website.
