10 Country Singers That Appeared on 'SNL'

For nearly 50 years, NBC's Saturday Night Live has been creating laughter all across the world, even thru the coronavirus pandemic! From their famous stage in New York City, the casts of SNL have been writing and performing sketches to be broadcast every Saturday night from the stage at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Other than famous comedians and actors, who else has made appearances on the famous stage?

Here are 10 country stars who brought Nashville to the New York SNL stage.

Garth Brooks 

Garth Brooks was the host and the musical guest of the night on November 13, 1999. His alter ego Chris Gaines even made an appearance.

Blake Shelton 

The Voice coach Blake Shelton was the host and the musical guest for January 15, 2015! We all know Blake could have been a comedian if his music career didn't take off.

Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton has been the musical guest on SNL twice, January 16th, 2016, and January 27th, 2018.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood performed the famous stage TWICE in one year! In 2007, she performed "Wasted" and "Before He Cheats."  After her career really took off in 2008, she returned to the SNL stage to perform "All-American Girl" and "Flat on the Floor."

Dolly Parton

Country singer and songwriter Dolly Parton hosted Saturday Night Live on April 15, 1989.

Luke Combs

Luke Combs's first time on SNL was February 1, 2019. He kicked off the Super Bowl weekend singing his breakthrough hit "Beer Never Broke My Heart" with host J.J. Watt!

Faith Hill

Country artist Faith Hill made her SNL appearance on October 12, 2002. Not only was she the musical guest, but she was also an actor in one of the skits!

Keith Urban

Keith Urban was the SNL musical guest on February 10, 2007! He performed some of his biggest hits at the time, including "Stupid Boy" and "Once in a Lifetime."

The Chicks

On February 8, 2003, The Chicks appeared on the SNL stage as Matthew McConaughey hosted the night!

Randy Travis

On February 20, 1988, country music star Randy Travis was the musical guest with Tom Hanks hosting!
