Smokey Robinson Accused Of Heinous Crime By Former Workers

Four women have come forward and accused singer Smokey Robinson of several serious crimes including assault and sexual battery, per dailymail.co.uk. Robinson, who is now 85 years old, "is alleged to have created a hostile work environment, with his wife Frances Robinson also named in the legal document filed in California Superior Court on Tuesday," per the outlet. All of these women are former housekeepers of Robinson's. None of them have been publicly identified.

The lawsuit is shocking because of the seriousness and number of the allegations, plus Robinson's longtime iconic stature in the music industry.

His accusers, per the outlet, are alleging "negligence, sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gender violence, creating a hostile environment and failure to pay minimum wage."

The crimes are alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2024 at his mansion in Chatsworth, Los Angeles. According to the outlet, the women are seeking "at least $50 million in damages."

What These Women Allege Happened

The complainants claim that Robinson took them into rooms in his home where there were no surveillance cameras. Then he allegedly would put a towel on the bed and rape that particular woman.

Robinson's wife, Frances, was reportedly aware of what was going on but did not take action to halt it. She supposedly would go to a nail salon so Robinson could be alone with each woman on Saturdays.

Robinson has not publicly commented on the charges against him.

Each Made Similar Allegations Against Robinson

The women are only called Jane Doe in the court documents. One of them alleges that Robinson sexually assaulted her repeatedly in his mansion. The alleged assaults happened in areas such as the garage or the laundry room. Both did not have cameras.

That woman charges that he raped her nearly two dozen times "without a condom." He also allegedly told the woman that "his wife would be 'mean' to her" unless she did what he wanted. The accuser also claims that Mrs. Robinson would shout at her routinely and use "ethnically pejorative words and language."

Another woman alleges that Robinson sexually assaulted her at least seven times during a period of slightly more than a year.

Yet another complainant alleges she was raped by Robinson "at least 20 times between 2012 and 2024," per the outlet.

The fourth woman alleges that he assaulted her between 2007 and 2024.
