
Slow Cooker Dr Pepper Pulled Pork
Did you know that soda can tenderize meat? One taste of this tender Dr Pepper Pulled Pork and you'll be putting it on everything!
Ingredients
- 5 lb pork butt
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups Dr Pepper soda
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 cup Barbecue sauce of your choice
Instructions
- Rub pork butt with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place in slow cooker and pour on Dr Pepper and honey. Cook until very tender and falls apart easily, about 7-8 hours on low.
- Shred pork with two forks. Pour in barbecue sauce and stir. Transfer to serving dish and serve with hamburger buns.
Notes
This recipe can also be prepared in the slow cooker on high for 4-5 hours.
Serve this pulled pork on hamburger buns with pickles and coleslaw.
