However, as Entertainment Weekly reports, the "I Dreamed a Dream" singer had a minor stroke in 2022, causing her to retreat from the spotlight.
But now Boyle has returned to the public eye. And a recent social media post indicates she is about to kick off "a new era" in her career.
Susan Boyle Is Getting a Makeover
If you somehow missed Susan Boyle's Britain's Got Talent audition video when it made the rounds in 2009, it's still quite a stunning clip.
Judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, and Amanda Holden were dismissive of her when she came on stage. Though they never actually say anything about her appearance or age, their body language speaks volumes.
That is, until the music starts.
That moment changed Boyle's life, and she underwent a transformation both personally and professionally. 17 years later, it appears she is ready to do it again.
The "New Era" Begins
As part of this shift, Boyle recently wiped her Instagram account. Then, she shared a new entry sporting a new look.
The caption reads, "A new era starts tomorrow."
In the photos, Boyle wears a blonde wig and sunglasses. Another image shows her in a music studio, standing at a microphone. She resembles former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, the inspiration for Meryl Streep's character, Miranda Priestly, in The Devil Wears Prada.
Another notable detail from the post is that it is marked as an advertisement. The specific product, however, is not identified.
Regardless of the reason for her new look, Boyle's return is a welcome comeback for the singer. Her last public appearance was in 2023, a year after her stroke. She returned to Britain's Got Talent to perform "I Dreamed a Dream" once again.
She said, "I fought like crazy to get back on stage, and I have done it."
