Michael Ray Issues Statement After DUI Arrest

Singer Michael Ray released a statement today apologizing for the actions that led to his arrest.

"I want to apologize to my fans, family, and my hometown community for placing myself in this situation," Sounds Like Nashville reported."I am so very sorry for the disappointment these events have caused everyone. I know it will take time; however, I will do everything I can to rebuild your trust."

Ray was arrested in the early hours of Wed. Dec. 20 in his hometown of Eustis, Fla. on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to the police report, Ray admitted that he had been drinking in a bar in the nearby town of Tavares.

The arrest occurred after Ray's vehicle rear-ended another vehicle in line at a McDonald's drive-thru.

During the arrest, police also located and identified a bottle of cannabis oil that Ray acknowledged was his.

Ray is probably best known for his 2015 hit "Kiss You in the Morning" as well as his 2016 single "Think a Little Less".

Ray's hometown of Eustis, Fla. sits about an hour outside of Orlando and is home to about 15,000 residents. Ray featured the town prominently in his video for "Kiss You in the Morning."
