Simon Cowell has taken a bow from America's Got Talent in order to face a difficult surgery. As reported by Page Six, this comes after an electric bike accident caused some serious damage.
Six months after his accident, which happened in 2020, he explained that he had "nearly smashed my spine to pieces", meaning he "literally wouldn't have been able to walk". But, luckily, that wasn't the case.
However, he knew the extent of his injuries the moment he crashed. "You're not supposed to get up," he recalled, "but I made myself kind of get carried into my bedroom, which is right there at the end of the house, and I'm lying there and I'm kind of passing out. I mean, it was just surreal," he recalled.
But this wasn't the only crash he's endured. He also injured himself two years later in 2022, having "crashed to the ground" and "broke his arm".

His Surgery Will Be Back-Related
Per TMZ, a source close to Simon Cowell explained that his surgery will be "routine". They clarified that "there is no indication of a new major health crisis".
Other than that, we're not clear on the procedure itself. We will update as and when we know some more information about Cowell's condition.
One thing that's not certain at the moment is who will be replacing Cowell in the judge's seat. However, he's slated to be back by the time the live semi-finals begin.
Fans were quick to wish the AGT judge well for his surgery. One commenter wrote, "Prayers and positive thoughts for Simon Cowell as he undergoes surgery and recovers over the next few weeks."
Other commenters were a little skeptical about the timing of the surgery. "It's odd he's doing that now as there is less than a month left of the show," one explained, with another writing, "he'll be back before the live shows even matter. the real drama is who fills that seat without messing up the vibe."
