A woman in New Hampshire was shocked to find a venomous snake hiding away in some bananas. The little guy had hitched a ride all the way from Ecuador, where the bananas were grown. As a result, the New Hampshire Conservation Trust got a call from a grocery store about an unexpected guest.

on Facebook shows the little snake hiding away in a cage. A shopper, looking for bananas, found the snake amongst the fruit. The small but venomous snake had been unwillingly relocated. Thankfully, it was probably too cold and tired from the journey to strike.The NH conservation team released a statement about the banana snake. "On Saturday, February 15th, a Conservation Officer responded to a local grocery store in southern NH after employees discovered an unwanted hitchhiker in a shipment of bananas. The hitchhiker turned out to be an Ornate Cat-eyed Snake, a mildly venomous snake species native to Ecuador."
As they mentioned, the snake is only mildly venomous. Still, it wouldn't be ideal to get bitten rather than take a bite of a banana.

Of course, the little guy is getting lots of love online. After posting the banana stowaway snake on Facebook, the comments are full of well wishes for the Cat-Eyed snake. He's a very cute customer.
Since then, the snake was transferred from his bananas to a snake and reptile home in the area. Here it will be taken care of with the right food and housing. The snake and reptile house reached out with thanks for their new guest. "Thank you so much for a smooth and safe transition of our new friend and resident. But, not everyone loves snakes as much as the center. As a result, many people have been given the heebie-jeebies, fearing they might have a snake in their bananas. "I no longer want to go near the banana aisle!" one Facebook user shared.
And I don't think they're alone either. There have been plenty of reports of dangerous spiders and snakes coming across in fruit imports. So, make sure to check your mangos and bananas for tarantulas, you don't want to bite into one of those.
