Shiner Introduces New Cold Brew Coffee Ale for Its 108th Birthday

If you like your beer with a little extra kick, Shiner just introduced the brew for you. In honor of its 108th year in business, the Texas company has rolled out Shiner Cold Brew Coffee Ale to help you wind down and wake up. The beer is made with Austin-based Chameleon Cold Brew Coffee and is available for a limited time.

Since 2005, the brewery has toasted to its birthday with a new beverage. Cold Brew Coffee Ale will be available in bottles, cans and on draft. The birthday beers usually sell quick, so act fast.

The Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner is the oldest independent craft brewery in Texas. It opened in 1909 and began churning out its best-selling flagship brew Shiner Bock in 1913. Even after a century, Bock is still the No. 1 craft beer in Texas.

Chameleon Cold Brew Coffee started six years ago in Austin and is available in grocery stores and retailers across the country. In true Texas fashion, Chameleon coffee stays true to its Lone Star roots, using pure Texas Hill Country water.

In the video below, Shiner brewmaster Jimmy Maurac and Chameleon Coffee CEO Chris Campbell give the rundown on the match-made-in-heaven collaboration.

On Shiner’s Facebook page, the company poked some lighthearted fun at coffee aficionados, captioning a photo of the Cold Brew Coffee Ale with “We thought about calling it Non-Fat Triple Grande No-Soy Sugar-Free Extra-Half-Decaf Beer. But Cold-Brew Coffee Ale works.”

Whatever you call it, Cold Brew Coffee Ale is just one more reason there’s nothing finer than a Shiner.
