This is in connection with his infamous tirade in which he assaulted several people during the Mardi Gras festival.
Additionally, Orleans Parish Judge Juana Marine-Lombard handed the actor a six-month suspended sentence.
For those unfamiliar, a suspended sentence is a delayed or deferred criminal punishment. Instead of sending a convicted individual to jail or prison immediately, the judge allows them to remain in the community under specific conditions, such as probation.
The Associated Press reported that LaBeouf, 39, must attend an alcohol treatment program under the sentence passed down by an Orleans Parish judge, according to Sarah Chervinsky, an attorney for the actor.
Video of the Feb. 17 altercation shows a shirtless LaBeouf outside a bar shoving one person to the ground. He is also shown hitting another person in the face, according to a New Orleans police report.
Shia LaBeouf Shoulders Blame For Bar Fight
The Transformers star has been released on bail following his arrest in New Orleans.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, LaBeouf's lawyer referred to the incident as a minor confrontation.
"The police and DA investigation proved exactly what Shia LaBeouf said from the beginning. That this was nothing more than a minor Mardi Gras bar tussle," said Chervinsky.
In his first interview after the incident, given in February, the Indiana Jones star said he was provoked by three men who invaded his personal space on Fat Tuesday.
"I was drunk, and then I felt infringed upon in terms of my proximity. But I wasn't in my right mind, and so it's on me."
When asked if he used a gay slur during the brawl, LaBeouf stated, "I said words not OK to say. I don't want to hurt nobody's feelings. I'm wrong for what I did."
