The breakup of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's 19-year marriage was one of the biggest celeb bombshells of 2025. Their split came as a huge shock to just about everyone. The Academy Award-winning movie star, 58, and the beloved country singer, 58, seemed so cozy. It was widely assumed they would be together for the long haul. Then the bottom apparently dropped out.

But Kidman is not sitting around feeling glum, per People. She reportedly has a slew of projects on tap, is spending time at home in Music City with her teenage daughters Sunday and Faith, and is excited about the future.
Kidman Is Also Savoring Some Domestic Downtime
According to the outlet, a source said, "Nicole spends a lot of time with her girls. She loves family time." That person continued, "She is refreshed and optimistic about the new year. They're all settling back in to their routine. Things have been calm."
But the actress won't be lazing in Nashville for long. As for her career, it's thriving. Kidman has plenty in the pipeline. The source explained, "She's looking ahead to a busy and exciting year professionally too, with several projects coming up."
What She Is Working On
Kidman has a fully booked-up schedule ahead. Her small screen projects include Margo's Got Money Troubles for Apple TV with Elle Fanning, Lioness for Paramount+ with Zoe Saldana, and Scarpetta with Jamie Lee Curtis for Prime Video.
Expect a third season of Big Little Lies, along with adaptations of Discretion and Girls and Their Horses.
As if that was not enough, in September, the sequel to Kidman's film with Sandra Bullock, Practical Magic (1998), will be released.
Kidman Was Initially Reportedly Thunderstruck by the Breakup With Urban
The Nicole Kidman-Keith Urban marriage seemed like a solid one, despite the stresses of being in the limelight and juggling packed professional schedules. When it crumbled so publicly, Kidman was left reeling. Said one source per the outlet, "Nicole's hurt and feels betrayed. It's devastating to her. She's shocked."
But she is evidently bouncing back after that trauma. Kidman's resilience and determination in the face of heartbreak are proof of her strength. Late last year when she was interviewed by Harper's Bazaar, Kidman spoke philosophically about getting past the hurt. She obviously has a keen sense of direction and "purpose." That gives her the drive to keep going.
Kidman said, "I'm grateful to be a part of this world. I'm grateful to be surviving as a woman, as an actress, and as a producer, professionally and personally. Also, my children [give me the] purpose of being their protector and their guide...."
