As we reported on March 7, the search for Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, has sadly come to a standstill. And, it appears the kidnappers could strike again.
As reported by the New York Post, the Arizona sheriff in charge of the investigation, has suggested that others are not "safe". Chris Nanos, Pima County Sheriff, refused to give specifics about how people apparently aren't "safe" after Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping.
"We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted... We're not 100% sure of that," Nanos said in an interview. "So it'd be silly to tell people, 'Yeah, don't worry about it. You're, you're not his target. Don't think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you're safe. No, keep your wits about you."
After these cryptic statements, he refused to give any more details on the case, or theories about how the kidnappers abducted Nancy Guthrie.
The sheriff has been criticised for numerous things since the start of the investigation. He has been criticised for lying on his resume in the 80s, and also for leaving the crime scene unsecured. Reporters and a pizza deliveryman were all able to knock on the front door, with no restrictions.

There Has Not Been a Single Suspect In the Nancy Guthrie Case So Far
Despite several fruitless attempts to try and find one, not a single suspect has been found in the Nancy Guthrie case. Since she disappeared on January 31, there has been a lot of public outcry. While we know the rough timings of when things happened, what we don't know is what exactly happened.
At 1:47am the day of her disappearance, her video doorbell disconnected. And after this, at 2:28am, her pacemaker was disconnected from her monitoring app. Family checked on Nancy Guthrie at 11:56am after she didn't show up to a meeting with friends to watch a virtual Bible service.
A large memorial has been placed in Tucson, Arizona, where fans and mourners have wrote messages. They plead for her safe return.
We hope that she is found.
