"We did have some run-ins with Harvey, but my manager and my ex, Joe, were both very protective of me," Shannon said. "So, when occasions arose that could have gone very wrong, they didn't allow it to happen. If I was invited to meet Harvey somewhere, they would say no."

In the interview, Elizabeth recalled one disagreement surfacing over confusion regarding whether she should pose for a men's magazine. The shoot was supposidly to help promote Jay And Silen Bob Strike Back, which Elizabeth starred in alongside Jason Mews and Kevin Smith.

"Harvey did threaten my career," Elizabeth continued. "Lose my number. Don't ever call me again about her or I'll end her career."

Elizabeth had reportedly signed a three-movie deal with Miramax during the early 2000s. However, she only ever filmed two movies with the company. Looking back, Elizabeth believes Weinstein played a role in why she was never cast for a role within the Scary Movie franchise.

"I think there's a definite reason they didn't [bring me back]," she said.

A Representitive for Harvey Weinstein Has Denied Shannon Elizabeth's Claim

According to PEOPLE, a representitive for Weinstein has since denied Elizabeth's recollection of events. The representitive noted that the disgraced producer had never threatened the actresses career.

"[Weinstein] did not threaten Shannon Elizabeth's career or make the statement attributed to him," the rep told PEOPLE. "By Ms. Elizabeth's own account, this was something allegedly said to her representatives more than two decades ago, using words she describes only as 'something to the effect of.' "

The representitive continued by alleging that Elizabeth and Weinstein weren't on a first-name basis. Instead, the rep claimed that Elizabeth would have dealt with Bob, Weinstein's brother.

"Professional disagreements happen in the film business, but they should not decades later be recast as threats without firsthand evidence or context. Harvey is a convenient distraction that few would scrutinize. It just didn't happen that way."

We're never going to know the truth regarding how things played out between the two sides. Hopefully, Elizabeth can continue forging her own path moving forward, and her push for a Hollywood return is a success.
