Shania Twain Finally Explains Why Brad Pitt Didn't Impress Her Much

It's hard to believe, but it's been 20 years now since Shania Twain's hit "That Don't Impress Me Much" climbed the country charts. In an interview with Billboard Twain finally revealed the inspiration for the reference to actor Brad Pitt in that song.

For those unfamiliar with the lyric, it goes:

"Oh-oo-oh, so you think you're something special/Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else/Okay, so you're Brad Pitt/That don't impress me much"

As it turns out, that line had its roots in the current events of the day. Twain revealed to Billboard that she came up with the line at Christmas time when she was baking cookies with a friend and talking about a Hollywood scandal.

"I was writing this album and there was a scandal of him and Gwyneth [Paltrow] where there was naked photos of him," Twain told an audience during a Q&A with Billboard. "This was like all the rage. I just thought 'I don't know what all the fuss is about.' I'm like, well that don't impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss?"

She continued:

"We see people naked every day. That's really what I thought. I wasn't picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association in that moment and things we make fusses about and whatever. Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy."

Twain is set to release Now, her first full-length album since 2002, on Sept 29.

She will be launching a tour next year, and she's even landed her first acting role in the upcoming John Travolta film Trading Paint.
