Shania Twain Cameos at ACL Fest With Hall of Fame Rock Band

Shania Twain had to rush across the ACL grounds to keep a commitment with Foo Fighters.

During the Austin City Limits (ACL) festival on Saturday (Sept. 7), Shania Twain rushed from the stage on which she performed a set of her country hits to elsewhere on the grounds, where she made a surprise cameo with the Foo Fighters.

Sporting bright red hair and a glistening, white outfit, Twain appeared during the end of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' set to duet 2005's "Best of You" with lead singer Dave Grohl.

An Instagram carousel posted by Twain shows a backstage hangout session with the band —Americana singer-songwriter Chris Shiflett included. Clips from the set include post-song footage of Grohl praising Twain for riding a golf cart across the festival grounds to make the collaboration happen.

"This was one off the bucket list for me! Firstly thank you to [Foo Fighters] for inviting me on stage— you are all so generous and ridiculously cool," Twain wrote. "I am a huge rock fan. My first band was a rock band, my first big producer was one of the worlds renowned rock producers, me and my son like to rock out.  Totally worth the adrenaline-fueled run from my stage to yours Dave Grohl— you are a true friend and talent."

Twain's been busy with her Queen of Me Tour, which shares its name with her latest album.  Tour resumes on Oct. 12 and will include several dates in Twain's home country of Canada. She' recently announced her 2024 Come On Over Las Vegas residency, which will showcase her greatest hits.

"If you want to change things or you want the show to evolve, it's as if the whole building, the whole theater is my playroom for a while," Twain told Billboard about her Vegas plans. "I love that I get consistency that I can build a show that I don't have to worry about moving around. It's a very different approach to the production when you have the luxury of things being maybe a little more fragile and if there are things you couldn't take on the road. It's a controlled environment, no variables you have to worry about— you can get the sound and lights the way you want it. That custom element of the production is a luxury."
