Reoccurring bodies in Lady Bird Lake have some Austin residents fearful that there is a serial killer on the loose. While one body is terrifying enough, more than one causes serious alarm. While police have informed the public that there is no evidence of foul play, this body found in the lake has some certain there is a serial killer in Texas.

Another Body In An Austin Lake, Is There A Serial Killer In Texas?
The Daily Mail shared that "A man's body was found floating on the north side of the lake just before 11 am on Friday." Although the body didn't show signs of any malicious intent, it is now the second body to appear in Lady Bird Lake in a matter of weeks.
Austin Police are already investigating the death of Thi Lang Nguyen, whose body was discovered in the same lake on December 1st. Similarly to their newest case, police shared that her body showed no signs of foul play either. The Daily Mail shares that police believe she was homeless and fell into the water while she was trying to stay warm.
However, these two deaths are not isolated incidents. This most recent body marks the seventh fatality in or near Lady Bird Lake this year. With the increasing numbers, residents have now started to fear a serial killer in Texas.
Police Push Back Against Texas Serial Killer Theory
While mounting bodies is a valid reason for concern, police push back against the public's fear. They argue that there is no evidence linking the cases. Thus debunking the Texas serial killer theory. Why then, are there so many deaths and dead bodies in or around this lake?
The Daily Mail shared that one incident was a simple drowning. One person was behaving "erratically" before falling in and drowning in the lake. However other incidents were not so easily explained. A fisherman spotted a body in the lake back in April. That body showed signs of blunt force trauma.
While that would be enough to raise my suspicions, police still argue against the serial killer in Texas theory. Instead, they attribute the majority of deaths to drowning and the local nightlife scene. Alcohol, drugs, late nights, and lakes apparently do not mix well together.
Multiple victims were last seen on a local nightlife street, Rainey Street, before their accidental drownings occurred. Although the police are trying to sweep concerns under the rug, the public is not entirely convinced. Particularly when a bartender shared some interesting news on Reddit. He claimed that one of his customers was making "disturbing remarks about targeting men from Rainey Street."
Within the same time span, a man claimed he was drugged and fell off a nearby bridge, almost drowning. He told The Daily Mail that he believed he was attacked "by the ripper." Similarly, another man was celebrating a bachelor party when he was drugged. He awoke in the hospital with Rohypnol in his system, along with new metal rods in his back.
