Kenny Rogers supplied a sentimental rendition of a Christmas classic during his recent stop at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The Country Music Hall of Fame member put his own spin on the bittersweet holiday favorite "I'll Be Home for Christmas" on the Dec. 14 episode. Fallon's house band the Roots provided accompaniment for the 77-year-old country star, who provided silky vocals for the sweeping rendition of Bing Crosby's big hit.
Rogers recently announced his plans to retire from country music after he completes one last farewell tour in 2016. The legend says that he made the decision to leave music behind in order to spend more time with his family.
"I wrote in my book that there's a fine line between being driven and being selfish, and I think I crossed that line when I was younger," Rogers said to the Today show. "I really want to be there with my kids and my wife. They're really very important to me, and I don't see enough of them."
Rogers is currently in the middle of his Christmas and Hits Tour featuring Linda Davis. The tour will hit cities across the East coast before wrapping up in Westbury, NY on Dec. 23.
