Celebrated singer-songwriter John Moreland made his television debut with a stunning performance of "Break My Heart Sweetly" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night.
Last year, the Oklahoma-native released his third full-length solo album, High on Tulsa Heat. The well-crafted record received rave reviews from critics and fans across many genres. Although he has been a fixture of the Tulsa music scene for years, Moreland's powerful music is finally getting the national recognition it deserves.
The haunting track "Break My Heart Sweetly" is featured on Moreland's 2013 release, In The Throes. The poetic and utterly heart-wrenching song was the perfect choice to spotlight Moreland's ability to use only his voice, lyrics and a few strums of the guitar to create a truly moving performance.
You can read more about Moreland's expansive career and incredible music in our exclusive interview with the singer. He'll be touring across the country extensively for the first half of 2016, including a string of dates with longtime tour mates and friends Lucero in April and a festival slot at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
