Chris Stapleton took the primetime stage at the CMA Awards to perform his song "Broken Halos."
Joined by his wife Morgane and producer Dave Cobb, Stapleton gave a powerful performance of the song. "Broken Halos" is the lead single on his now CMA Award-winning album From A Room, Vol. 1, which took home Album of the Year. The song offers a message of hope during trying times.
"In light of the tragic kind of year we've had, that was the only song we could play," Stapleton told Wide Open Country. "It wasn't much more than a two-second discussion."
His follow-up album, From a Room: Volume 2, is due out on Dec. 1. He's been keeping fans intrigued by dropping a sampling of songs from the record. So far, he's released the romantic "Millionaire" and the haunting "Scarecrow in the Garden."
This was another big CMA Awards year for Stapleton. The bonafide star took home both Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
